From the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery.

I agree that there is an argument for a wider shot. In fact the photos I shot before and after this one were mostly wider. What I liked about this shot was the precision, and the focus that comes through with the perfect rifle placement, and the look of concentration on their faces/bodies.

Well said and a great photo, I would not change a thing. You definitely captured their intense concentration.

I too like what you were going for here, some crazy CA going on around the collar.

Part of the CA comes from the lens I was using. Part of that is from not being in tune enough with the details of a photograph, and the rest from my lack of skill/experience when I did pp on the shot.. its from April 2010.

Nicely done, it works very well as is.

This is a shot that breaks the rules and wouldn't work if it didn't.
Great people photos need eye contact but these guys have sunglasses that prevent eye contact.... yet the passion they have for what they are doing breaks through that. They are clearly intimately connected to each other and the event despite the sunglasses.... their connections flows from their eyes around the blocking lenses to bond them to each other and the moment.

Great work.
