I would like a shoulder bag, maybe Crumpler, to fit the Canon EOS 20D with the 17-85 lens, Speedlite 430EX and spare battery and memory card.

I just ordered the camera, lens and flash. Will I be able to put the camera with the lens attached into the carrying bag? Also, will I be able to put the camera with the lens and the Speedlite attached into a carrying bag?

Also, are there any carrying case that fits the 20D with the 17-85 lens attached?

I do not like backpacks and would prefer a shoulder bag.

first, i dunno about leaving the flash atached and putting it in a bag other than a hard case with custom foam cutouts and whatnot. i would be worried it might snap off.
crumplers are nice, and have nice padding, and Domke makes some nice light weight bags with less padding. i have the Domke 5xb, and itholds my rebel xt with 85mm, a flash and another lens and batteries/cf cards. thinking of getting the 3xb eventually. seems like it has a better setup for quick deployment.
