Anyone looking for an ultra light travel tripod, B&H has again reduced the price on the Mountaineer GT0531 (purchase price $380, with rebate $340). I think there are rebates on all the Gitzos until Jan. 15, but this one really stands out.

Here I come, Sat. 5:00 pm, CST...

I agree with Ben about the 2 series, but I've been using the Feisol 3441T for this combination, very successfully, mine with the 100-400. I think it will match the performance of the Gitzo 2 series easily, at less weight, because of the tube diameters. I would look at the 3441 S standard, if you're under 6' in height.
