Maybe if we start planning next year's version now....we will be better organized. ;)

Well....we haven't done much planning since the last Shootout. Umbrellas appear to top the recommended gear list!

With, or without, flashes?

Thistle Week comes as the second full week of July this year (including the weekends at each end); given I'm looking at retiring in August, I'm not sure I'd be able to squeeze in a weekend during the July time frame. September and October are distinct possibilities, as are weekdays the first and third weeks of July.

I suspect sans flash would be more weather appropriate.

If you have the umbrella you may be able to use the flash. I'll definitely bring rain gear this time.

I'm counting on making it down to the NC Arboretum open shoot which will be the 3rd? Could make a day of it. Watch - they'll reschedule to the following week (when I'm booked solid) due to the 4th on Wed.

Is anything going to be planned for 2013?

Ah, OK. Thanks, Jon. It was the "Western" part that I couldn't figure out. LOL :D

Yeah - we all hang out in the Blue Ridge. Asheville, Boone and thereabouts. AKA "Eastern Oregon" (it's a Tupperware Ranch thing).
