I was at the Huntington Beach Pier tonight checking out the big surf and just after the sunset I saw this!

Yes I see those contrails all the time but this one was coming straight out of the ocean pointed up.

Those are just airplanes producing contrails... or chemtrails if you're "one of those."

Look up enough on a clear day and you'll see them crisscrossing the sky all the time. If the contrails linger around long enough they'll create cirrus clouds.

It's still a contrail, a long one, but a contrail. There was a sighting a few years back that panicked a lot of folks. A mystery missile launch. Turns out it was just a long contrail.
