Mystery Soldier At Sunset xoxo, I was down taking photos at the beach at sunset when all of a sudden this came into my view of my lens. He was dressed in full Camo from the tip of his cap, to the boots he wore on his feet, while cradling his little daughter. I clicked a photo as I had tears running down my face as he watched the sunset. What a beautiful thing. It was pure America to me. Did he just get home? Was this his first sunset home? Was it the first time he got to see and hold his daughter? I was almost home and had to go back and try to find him, because I was so taken by this image I had captured that I wanted to send it to him, but he was no where to be found, so He will always be a mystery to me, one that was so beautiful and I will not soon forget. Sometimes photography can bring you little surprises that steal your heart this way. :) Thank you mystery soldier for your service to this country.

I see this as looking to the future at the sunset of the past.Perhaps less war and more understanding?

Fantastic, I am a 6ft5" South African with tears in my eyes after seeing this.

Well done, and I hope perchance you do find him one day.

I did send a copy to our local newspaper here, and asked for their help. I asked if they could print it and ask for help in finding him. I would so love to give him a copy and find out what his story is :)

Sorry I can't help any more, but what I can tell you is that he's an Airman rather than a Soldier, and the slick sleeve and the age of the person would lead me to believe he's an officer rather than an E-1. Do you have an Air Force base near you?

Congratulations, very good shot. Breaking some classic rules, the placement of the person, the direction at which he is looking at all helps to build up a mystic story. One has to tell it oneself. I love it.

This is very moving.

It's interesting that you were wondering if he had just arrived home. I was wondering if he was just getting ready to leave.

Strong image regardless. Excellent job.
