Great shots--I love how the puck is frozen in most of them and the player poking his tongue out in the first one!

I'm jealous of how white that ice is. Any tips on how to get that? I feel like that makes a huge difference in the shots, too.

Try to shoot in camera at +2/3 to +1 overexposed if light allows, then raise exposure slightly in post processing as needed. Look at your histograms. With all the white in hockey, your peaks on it should be far to the right. If they are in the middle, you will tend to get grey ice and darker images.

So am I correct in assuming that white ice is more of a product of exposure rather than white balance?

(Sorry if this is something that's obvious!)

Thank you very much, for me I do as CS said and overexpose about 2/3 to 1 full stop when I shoot just depends. That will help you get a good start on the ice and then most of my other adjustments are done in post with Photoshop CS4
