Does anybody have experience with this lens on a crop sensor? Better yet, those with both crop and full frame cameras wit this lens, how does the IQ compare between each?

Some lens seem to translate better than others. Just trying to get some opinions before dropping $1,250 on this lens.

It's a fabulous lens. What's not to love about it? You can also check out the lens archives for lots of examples.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

I did a search and looked through a lot of pictures, but was only able to find a handful of shots taken on a crop sensor.

Seems like everyone who owns this lens shoots with a 5d mkii. :)

Honestly, the lens is superb. You really can't go wrong, even on a cropper. I use it with my T2i, 5Dii and EOS 3 and A2E film cameras.

I shoot this lens with 1D3 and 5D2. The lens is great for both. I have not use it on the 1.6x crop.

I used the 50mm MP on a T2i body before I bought a 5D Mark II. It's a fantastic lens no matter which body you use. It is great on a crop body though I found it really shines on the full frame. Because this lens has such amazing color rendition the extra color depth of a full frame body (in my opinion) really brings the images to life. I also think it is a better value on a full frame camera because it is sharp across the field at f/2.0 (albeit with noticeably more vignetting), while a crop sensor only uses part of the glass.
On a related note, manual focusing with focus confirmation was actually quite easy on the T2i. However I do find it easier/quicker to compose and focus looking through the full frame viewfinder.

That pretty much applies to all fast prime or L lens in general ;)

yeah, any lens (except the crop designed ones) will be the "Same difference" on crop and FF.

i think this is not a lens question, but a body question ... :)

I absolutely love the 50 MP! No matter what body you use it on it will shine!
