I have seen and read about lot of people using vagabond mini lithium with their 600rx perfectly fine....I still have few hours before placing the order and I am still not 100% confident in what I should get, obviously buying both would solve everything but unfortunately I will not do that so its one or the other.

Are the modelling lights really not enough strong enough for indoor work using quadra compared to 600rx? Will I notice a big or major difference between the two using for indoor portraits?

I want to be able to utilize my lights in both indoor and outdoor facilities and if the consensus is that 600rx with a power pack will be better for my needs then I will go that route otherwise I still really want to get the quadras. They seem very portable and easy to manage on and off location but if working on portraits sessions indoor with quadras cannot provide good results then I will look at 600rx to order.

Thank you all for your input.

Karim.

I am about to order this cable to fire my 580 exii flash using the universal skyport receiver. Is this the correct cable I would require? http://www.flashzebra.com/wizardcables/screwlock.shtml (external link)

I just want to make sure before I buy.

Thank you.

What's good about the Tronix Mini is its compatibility to a variety of bi-voltage flashes which is well indicated and enumerated on their site. Their battery pack is categorized according to the needs of different photographers. See their catalog (external link), this might help.

Ok, so based on my decision I went ahead and purchaed the following:

-2X 600RX lights with skyports,
-1X universal receiver skyport for my 580 exii flash
-Photoflex Pro Duty Background Stand
-Few super clamps, 1/4" studs, justin clamp, couple of A-Clamps

All for $2196.00 shipped to Houston and my friend will be bringing it back with him at the end of this month. I finally have my basic studio setup in the works now and have few modifiers already that I had purchased and the only thing required to get is an external batter pack for outdoors which I am not sure which to get yet but it can wait until I get more comfortable with my new lights and learn them first.

This forum has helped me a lot in my search and I appreciate all the feedback and input I received in the last month or so.

Karim.
