For the same money, would you choose:

A: 7D with 17-50 Tamron Non-VC
B: 60D with 17-50 Sigma OS

I shoot 95% landscapes with and without the use of a tripod and 5% close range BMX racing.

Thanks!

7d and 17-50 Tamron
hands down.
The IQ, crop value, sensor, are the same on both, so why not take advantage of the bells and whistles of the 7d.
and I own a 60d, its a great camera.

For what you want to shoot I would take the 60d hands down. I would take the Tamron with it. The earlier copies of the VC version were reported soft wide open when it was released, but a yr later users are reporting that its sharp. Too bad Tamron didn't make sure they were dead on when first released, it really hurt the reputation of that lens.
The nonVC version has earned a wonderful rep for sharpness, and at the price, its a heck of a buy for a crop camera. I don't really miss stabilization on my 28-75, so I can't make myself believe I would miss it on a 17-50 that is even wider.

I have not used the tamron so I do not know, but everyone seems to like it. I think the sigma 17-50 is a really awesome lens. There are probably comparisons between the sigma and tamron if you google it. I only looked at comparisons between the sigma and canon 17-55 before getting the sigma and I have been super happy I did.

I am kinda between everything from 7d to 60d to even a used 50d....I feel compelled to get the 7, but at the same time I think I only need the 60 and am better off with that and more glass some know where you are coming from.

Everything is relative.
Gear: 6D, Unholy Trinity:twisted: (24Lii, sigma 50A, 135L), and for the other ends of the spectrum, sigmaEX 14mm2.8 and sigmaEX 100-300F4.
Fuji X-e2, Rokinon 8 2.8 Fisheye II, Fuji 14 2.8, Fuji 18-55, Fuji 23 1.4

Thank you all for your input.

What if there was a 3rd option:

40D with Sigma 17-50 and Tokina 11-16 into the options for same total price?

Winner!
I own both the 7D and the 40D, for landscaping the 40D has less noise* at the low iso-values (100-400) which you use for landscapes. The 7D's AF is a little faster than the 40D's, but for BMX I think the 40D is still a very capable camera!

Because you shoot 95% landscape I think the investment in an UWA (the Tokina you mentioned) is worth the difference in body features.

The 7D excels in tracking fast moving object (birds-in-flight, action sports) and has great lowlight capabilities compared to the 40D. In my opninion, YOU don't need any of that. It might be the best choice for 'jhayesvw' though.

(*=maybe I should say: more preferable noise)
