My favorite model Ashlee wasn't feeling well today (sore throat) but let me try out my Lightcraft Fader MII with my stobes on her.
For anyone who doesn't know what the Fader MII does it basically allows you to shoot at your lens widest aperture during midday with the harshest of sunlight. Or in this case indoors with strobes. My camera settings were f/2.8 with ss 250th sec and iso 100.
I have more pics but will upload them later.

Thanks, I posted the pic so anyone that might be considering a variable neutral density filter can see you can get good results even without the Singh Ray name attached. At a fraction of the cost the results are more than acceptable.

Hmm, thanks for posting. On their website, they state that they use a larger glass element to reduce vignetting (ex. 77mm glass on a 72mm filter). Would a larger glass element reduce vignetting on an ultra-wide like the Canon 10-22 on a 7d? Or is it mainly so that you can stack filters with reduced chances of vignetting?

And why is it that they recommend not using it past 200mm? What would cause it to reduce picture quality?

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread.

So is it just a neutral density filter or something off camera? Off to google I guess... :D

If I understand you correctly you would not get the vignetting but if you dialed the filter to far down on anything under 30mm you would start to get the cross pattern showing up in your image.

I'll put the Fader II on my 28-105 tomorrow and take some pics at 28mm with the different intensity levels and post those.
