sigma 85mm 1.4 - where did u buy yours?

Hello everybody, Im fairly new to the forum, been browsing it alot!

My question.. I am interested in buying a sigma 85mm 1.4, however the prices in europe seem really high compared to US. So where did you get yours and for what price? I live in southern spain and the prices here seem to be 950 Euros and up.. compared to about 650-700 Euros in the states. I would prefer to get it locally so i could send it back as this lens is known to have some pretty bad quality control (damn u sigma with ur great lenses and crappy QC!).

if i cant find a good deal i am thinking ill have to go for the manual zeiss option..

I bought mine locally because of the warranty Sigma offers in Canada is much longer than what it offers in the USA. Paid a bit more, but I wanted the lens and the warranty.
I dunno if Sigma Spain exists and what warranty they may offer - might be worth looking into

Thats the thing.. extra shipping cost and what if its a fauly copy that i keep hearing so much about? id have to send it all the way back.. so im looking for some good options here in europe.

The chance of getting a faulty Sigma lens seems to be exaggerated.

If the price difference was significant, I'd take the risk on getting a bad lens But, B&H's price with shipping is only about 15% less and I'd assume that you'd pay at least that much in customs duty.

okay, thanks. i hope its exaggerated. ill keep looking online in shops in europe.
