Toploader 55 AW

I've just semi-impulse-bought a Lowepro Toploader Zoom 55AW and the chest harness in preparation for a skiing trip, my thoughts being that it would be easier (and safer) to have the camera on my chest than in a backpack. Apparently it can take a 70-200, albeit tightly, which is what I would be carrying.
Any thoughts? I could post a review once it arrives, I couldn't see one in the sticky.

Check out Ben Jacobsen's posts for other solutions. Believe he used a Think Tank Urban Disguise 30 as a chest bag.

Ben's a skier too. I used the largest fanny pack I had at Vail. Wore it in front; worked well for me.

Excellent bag, takes a gripped 5D MKII with a 70-200 2.8 IS with no problem. Can take a few more accessories in the front pocket. My version (+/- 2 years old) can have pouches attached on the side (filter, second small lens...).

Ive had the LowePro TopLoader 75AW for years and loved it! Whenever I want to shoot with just my 70-200 and gripped body its a perfect fit. I even have a couple LowePro Lens cases that I can attach on the side to carry a bit more.

I have the 75AW too, fits my gripped 7D with 100-400 L IS perfect.

I have the 70AW. No complaints. Already ran it through some tough conditions. It's a great bag.

OK, thanks for the help guys. The thought process behind it was that it would be easier and safer (for me and my gear) to bail, tuck and roll with it strapped to my chest, as well as being less of a pain on lifts. I'll update when I actually get it

Same as everyone else, it takes my 1div with 70-200mk 2 hood reversed (just)

Have had an older Toploader 65 for a while and it's is fine with my 60D or XTi (w/grip) and a shorter lens. Just looked at the updated "Pro" version and it's a bit nicer. On thing I didn't really like on my 65 was the back to front opening lid to the main compartment which has now been changed to side opening. Also, the small item storage has been moved to the top of the lid, plus there are a couple other changes for accessory organizing. One take away is the removal of one of the Sliplock attachments on the side of the bag. Nicer, but not enough to make me want to spring for yet another bag. The Think Tank holsters look pretty sweet too.
