I shoot with a 5d Mark II and use Photoshop Elements 7. It always seemed to work fine, but suddenly the program tells me that CR2.RAW is not a valid format. WTH?!?!?! Anyone else have this problem?

Make sure you have at least ACR 5.2 installed (which apparently you did if it worked before). Here's Adobe's step-by-step procedure for troubleshooting ACR:

Do you mean, perhaps, that it always seemed to work fine with a different camera? Every model has its own version of CR2, so the converter has to date from after the release of the camera.

For clarification, PSE 7 worked with my current 5D Mark II (the same one I am having problems with now). I will check the ACR thing.

I believe that I've seen ACR get messed up somehow and that I had to re-install it.

Make sure you follow the Adobe directions precisely for your version of Elements and for your particular OS -- things seem to have landed in different places for different versions, at least as I recall.
