Anyone have any experience with Kodak brand? Aside from them going out of business and all, I was looking at picking up rechargeables for my 580II and while these don't come w/ the charger, it's cheaper than even some of the off brand Chinese ones.

Not sure how long this deal is going to last either.

Here are some reviews of that same supposed battery. http://www.amazon.com …e-Batteries/dp/B000EIX5J6 (external link)

I took a quick look and would avoid myself as the Ebay seller definitely sells China made knockoffs and has lots of bad feedback. You can see one of the products they are selling is refurb Canon 20D and 30D cameras. They also claim to be an authorized dealer but according to the list on the Canon site this is a flat out lie. I believe they are selling a good mix of counterfeit products mixed in with some legit closeout items. You can rarely ever be sure with Ebay these days with so much counterfeit crap flooding the market.

Bottom line if you don't care about your $10 take a shot in the dark but if you depend on those batteries and don't have backups then buy from a trusted source.

Mike Panic,

I have about 20 Kodak brand rechargeable batteries and I've used the brand for years. They last longer than any other rechargeable AA battery that I've tried; in my Kodak cameras I can shoot five times as many shots compared to Duracel or Engergizer. I put them in my 580EX II about a month and a half ago and they're still going strong.

As for the company, I sold my stock @ ~5.25 last January after buying @ ~3 in 2009. I invest by 'buy what you know' method and when I was first researching DSLR I couldn't find any Kodak options so I sold even though I always loved their cameras.

I didn't check the link first; the green Kodak rechargeable's do NOT last as long. They're OK, but not like the silver or light yellow Kodaks.

I have red Kodak's from over 10 years ago but they were made in Japan. Doubt they would still work if they had been made in China. The battery life however depends on the mAh rating and all LSD hold near equal charge. Most LSD are also made Sanyo so if these are legit they may actually be 1st generation Eneloop batteries with a Kodak wrapper.
