I have not had any shots that sharp out of my 70-200 that I can think of. Also you are lucky you have owls that come out during the day. I just got my first owl today but it was asleep in a tree high up and I barely got a halfway decent shot that I could see it. 7D / 70-200 F4L IS / 400 5.6L / 50mm 1.8 / 18-55 Kit / CS5 plus other software.

The bird seemed comfortable, as it was sitting on a post by the road and concentrating on the mice activity around. It was fun watching and photographing the bird. Sony A7r
