It has a level but the presentation is different than the 7D. It works like a spirit(bubble) level and it will work in the portrait position.

Thanks for the real-life demo shot and the menu excerpt.

A related question:

The 7D has a 2-axis level (pitch & roll), but it looks like the G1x only does 1 axis (roll), right?

The Olympus E-M5 appears to have a 2-axis level:

I must say I'm more and more tempted by this Olympus marvel everyday -- heck, it has a cleaner ISO3200 than my 7D!

Really? G1X only does 1 axis? Can someone double check this?

I've been putting it off selling my DSLRs for a while now, but the E-M5 has really put the nail in their coffin for me. Micro 4/3 and the G1X are just so much better suited to my style than a DSLR.

Also, was running a lot of Manual mode and Manual Focus and found that once I use MF, the use of the rear adjustment dial for aperture control is disabled in lieu of MF... anyone know a way around that...!

A bit off topic but ....
I found this Publicity Material the other day and found it quite interesting. I'd never seen Canon make much of a splash about the G1X perhaps fearing that it might overshadow the EOS M.
