I have been playing around with the trial version of Zerene Stacker. What a fantastic program. I tried some of these stacks with CombineZP, and they came out full of problems.

Flower from a recent store trip:

Another flower from the store:

Did this one yesterday on a flowering plant that has taken over the backyard. This is a reduced-resolution version, but I'm very pleased with the detail at 100% on the full-res. one.

Another backyard beauty. This was taken early in the morning while the light was still nice and soft:

Alright, that's enough flower pictures for this morning. Time for breakfast :)

Those are some really clean stacks! Only nit pick is the lighting on #2 is rather flat. Aside from that, well done

Thanks for the comments, folks.

Wallpap3r, I tend to agree with your comment regarding #2. I had two other series with more directional/high-contrast light, but the composition was much worse in terms of petal direction/color. I decided to bite the bullet and go with the less-interesting lighting to hang onto the better composition. Had I been paying more attention at the time, I would have preferred to have both, but as with all my photos, it isn't until it's far too late that I realize what I could have done better :D

Does Zerene Stacker achieve these results straight off, or do you have to do some manual tweaking to clean them up at all?

Mark.

Thanks, Russ.

Madweasel, I had to do some manual corrections in photos 3 and 4, but I did none for the others. The corrections went very quickly, though, because I watched the tutorial video on Zerene's website about how to fly through corrections with minimal time investment. It's worth watching if you have the software. Had I not watched it, my workflow would have been much slower.
