This Maltese puppy was rescued from being tortured by gang-bangers in the Los Angeles, California area. Her face was burned and she needed her tail amputated. We are fostering her until a permanent home is found.

We almost lost her but, she is now on her way to recovery due to some heroic actions by our vet. Her face is healed, although scarred and her tail is healing.

It is hard to believe but this little girl has no fear of humans and will lick my hand and kiss me whenever I am near her. It is truly a miracle. We will find her the safe and loving "furever" home she deserves.

It's shocking what people can do to a poor, defenceless animal :-(

Poor thing, but nice to see that she is now being looked after and, thankfully, isn't afraid of humans. Thanks for sharing.

What's the saying? Strive every day to be the person your dog thinks you are? For all the times I despair for the lack of humanity in humanity, I'm always turned around when I get home to my two pugs. Dogs truly are amazing creatures.

Film, suckers.

what does gang-bangers mean. I know the meaning in Australia but I cannot see how that would relate to a little dog so I'm thinking it has a different meanting in the US.
I'm glad you rescued her. Her eyes look sore, if you want a gentle soothing treatment for them, cold tea is fantastic. Just brew a little up, let it cool and then bathe her eyes with it. You might find once she knows what you are doing she will actually press her eyes against the tea soaked cotton pad, that's what mine do.

She looks GREAT, considering. Sounds like she is a warrior, to be able to trust humans still. This is awesome to see/hear......and gratifying to see people are still out there like you, helping this animal. Hopefully it comes back to you in full force. :)

I cannot see how those human beings could justify harming this poor animal. Makes me sick at the thought of their attitude towards life...

I'm happy to see that she was rescued. Thanks for sharing, and I hope she finds a good home soon. <3
