I just got my Alien Bees B800 and wanted to put it to work. These shots haven't been edited much if at all. What do you all think?

I would lose the camera. Its about as cliche as a band on a brick wall or train tracks. If it is for a photography website its a bit redundant.

I appreciate the feedback. While I agree that those shots might be cliche, the average person out there may not have been bombarded with shots like that where the photographer is holding his camera. These shots were more experimental than anything, and may or may not make it onto the website. I will keep that in mind for future shoots though. Any other feedback? I see a bunch of people hitting this thread but not too many comments, not sure how to take that. :)

The people not commenting could be people like me who are just learning and checking out a thread to see what others are up to. Don't take it personally, I usually don't comment much because I'm not confident enough in my own abilities yet :)

An old gentleman I used to work with once told me " It's better to keep your mouth shut and have people believe you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt" I heard that 20 years ago and still remember it to this day!

I like the first two shots with #2 being the winner. The lighting is very good.
I have to agree with Neslorm. A lot of people look but don't comment because they don't have anything good or bad to say.

1st shot looks like it has too much magenta to it. Compare it to the rest.
I really like the 2nd shot! What was your light setup for this shot?

Lighting is fine. Those shots have a lot of BLING to them with the hat, watch and the camera.

I like the last 3! If I were you I'd maybe burn the "Canon" logo on the camera - it's a little bright

I need to edit the first one a bit more for sure. As for the lighting setup, it was pretty simple. Had an alien bees B800 with an umbrella in front of him to his left, and a 580exII right behind him directed at the background paper. We used the Cowboy Studios remote triggers and a Canon 85mm 1.8 lens to take the shots.

These aren't going on his website, but we may end up taking some of the poses and re-doing them when he's shaven and dressed right. This was mostly to try out my new B800 since it was my first time taking shots like this. Thanks everyone for the feedback. Hopefully my next set will be even better.
