Sending back a very damaged Sigma lens after drop (out of warranty)...tips?

Well, not much to say. Back in November I dropped my Sigma Lens and 50D together. The 10-20mm took the impact. It focuses perfectly manually but will not autofocus (case is cracked, wires got pulled out of their connector, and the zoom ring doesn't work...just grinds.

So I'm boxing it up and sending it in. Im kind of half way between the Chicago and Arizona location. Any ideas which to send it to? Is it worth the repair?

Only they can tell for sure but from the damage you listed, I'm guessing that the cost is gonna come really close to the $479 for the cost of a new lens. But send it in and see what they quote.

I only paid 290 for this lens. If its going to be that much...Its going to be a sweet paperweight.
