EOS 20D or 350

This probably won't help but i own a 350d and i am very happy with it but if you read the forums you will see that 20d owners are very happy too. suggest you find a friendly camera store and try both cameras. the main difference seems to be handling, how big are your hands?

I have decided to go for the 350D.
After browsing through the lense thread and tried to learn what i could on the different lenses that exist and their use, I am still uncertain on what lense to go for.
I have read on this forum and have been told by other people that the 18~55mm that comes with the 350D as a kit, is of limited use and I should start right off with a 70~200 or something similar. I am still very unsure about this and would love some advice.
I would mainly use my camrea for landscape and portraits, sometimes indoor shots.
