So this is now 2 for 2 that Adorama has dropped the ball in 2 weeks for me. First order was a lens (took 2 days to ship and 7 days to be delivered - I am within UPS 1 day delivery zone) and this time a body.

My order placed by 4pm and confirmed by them by 6pm. I paid for priority shipping to avoid the donkey default they usually use. But what is the point if they do not ship when they say they will.

Anyone else encountering this?

B&H ship same day and dont advertise the fact. They always UPS and it always is delivered next day (for me). That is great!!

No this is not the end of the world - but it does tick me off

Edit/update - Looks like this latest **** session is my own fault The latest item is used and apparently needs to be ordered earlier. For that I do apologize to Adorama for the premature melty.

Did you check status on Adorama's website? They always ship the same day for me. I ordered a monopod on Sunday and I just realized I didn't get an email about my item shipped so I went to Adorama.com and sure enough it said "shipped" on status.

So far out of half a dozen of orders, they have not fail me yet. I've been having a lot of bad experience with Amazon tough. The last 4 orders through Amazon they shipped after 7 days.

Anytime it looks like an order is delayed you should call and speak with customer service so they can tel you what caused the delay. I have had items with two day shipping leave the second day and arrive the same day on my door step. I have never had a shipment arrive a day late with Prime they always get it here in two days and sometimes they even get here by the next day.

I received an e-mail just before 6pm -

The verification of your order has been completed,
and your order is now in progress.

Thanking you for your patience.

Indeed checked the site before getting grumpy.

Status: Pending

I have had similar luck to isoMorphic when it comes to Amazon - again since joining Prime.

Was it a new or used product? The only time I ever had any issue with them was using the used department, that was a few years ago though. I did order something used on Sunday and it's should be here within in the next few hours according to their site so fingers are crossed.

I'm not sure if I understand what the problem is, but you are most welcome to email me directly for clarification: Helen@adorama.com (external link)

BTW, if you select UPS ground or free shipping, you cannot assume that your order will arrive within one day, unless that is the delivery estimate given at checkout.

If it is imperative that you receive your delivery next day, then you need to select next day delivery.

I hope this helps, but if not, please let me know.

Orders only ship business days, and as it states on our website,

http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=FAQ#SHIPPING (external link)
Delivery of Used Merchandise:

Orders for Used items placed on business days up to 1:00 PM ET are generally shipped the same day (subject to verification, as described below). Please note weekend orders, placed on Fridays after 9:00 AM ET will be processed on Monday.

I appreciate the reply Helen. I e-mailed you directly 2 weeks ago regarding problems with a lens shipment but I did not get a reply.
This order I paid for UPS 3 day delivery (even though regular UPS ground takes 1 day). Paying for Next Day delivery is expensive and usually unnecessary.
Fingers crossed it will get out today and I will be able to put it to work this weekend. I guess I just get a little impatient at times waiting for a new toy.

I do apologize; I can't see anything unanswered, or in my junk. What is your real name?

Lol I know, I'm one of those few who read shipping/delivery schedules of vendors. Tuesday is my only day off so I generally order items to receive them then so I get a chance to play ASAP.

Hoping you and yours had a great holiday season Helen, you deserve it!

With the prime 2-day shipping, I always get the second day and Amazon never missed it. Even when they don't ship same day, they send with next day with 1-day shipping to make sure you get within 2 days. They note it in the product page if there is an exception and they will not be able to ship it immediately due to the inventory so you know before you order.

They seem to push very aggressively for the prime so maybe they may be delaying the shipment for regular free shipping, maybe even intentionally.

Well, just did a thorough search and it's nowhere to be found. Very odd.....

Not to worry; the most important thing is you now know why - and it's given me an opportunity to clarify for all that used gear does take a little longer to move. (The reason is that it's all warehoused in NYC; the big trucks wouldn't be able to pick up from there so orders go by road in a van down to the DC in NJ - it's not ideal, I know)
