Talk about a heck of an opportunity. Looks like he did a great job with it!

He got some nice photos, but noticed the camera not strapped to anything, lose in a cockpit doing aeros. and his helmet not strapped up. Bad boy :-)

He's got a great job. It would have been nice if he'd added some voice-over.

Justin is one of the top A/A shooters in the business. He has skills and connections that are second to nobody. His hero is Katsuhiko "Katsu" Tokunaga, (as is mine) Both are ISAP members. I am suitably humbled by the images they create. Just so you know it takes months and sometimes years to get the clearances to fly with all of the different military units. This type of photography is expensive for all involved, takes countless hours to plan, and execute.

As to the strap issue, you don't want the camea strapped around your neck if you have to use the ejection seat. It would be instant death. The photographers that shoot at this level have very well planned work habits that they adhear to strictly.

There are always so many thing to consider. I never thought of the ejection seat issue. Either way, I don't find 'around my neck' very secure so I always strap my camera into my harness.

I think it depends on the type of A/C you are in too. I usually use a strap when shooting in or near a slipstream. In my second A2A shoot I stopped using hard lens hood though, grabbed my gear and gave it a good yank. Now I don't look so good in a flight suit so I wear a vest battened down but good.
