I was wondering if there is anyone who still has a great deal on a 5D Mark II?
It seems like all of the major retailers have gone back to regular price.

Here is the bio on the seller:

Adorama seems to still post a good one every now and then. It's generally a bundle that includes a lens (either a 50mm f/1.8 II or the 24-105L), an extra OEM battery, a Sandisk CF card, and a nice sling bag. If you don't mind the effort of selling the extras, it gets body down into the $1800 range, depending on what you're able to get for the extras on the open market.

Be careful with the henry's deal. I purchased one got charged a paypal conversion fee and then an additional conversion fee thru my credit card.

When I bought my 5DII from Henry's my credit card was not charged any additional fees.

Best to CALL your CC company before buying and ask so there's no surprises later. ;)

I should also have added that Adorama participates in Mr. Rebates, so you can get about $85 cash through that as well, which sort lowers the final effective cost. I'm not pushing Adorama in any way (have had my issues with them, as well as some positive experiences), they just happen to be one of the few camera shops that you can use Mr. Rebates with.

The super duper incredible deals may come and go, but the current deal at the major retailers for the 24-105 kit is still really good at $2799. If you don't need the lens, then the deals may be less attractive or harder to find.

You can sell the 24-105 for $800 relatively easily.

There was a Super Duper deal yesterday for this kit at $2,499. As Numenorean mentioned, the lens can be sold for approximately $800, which gets you a new 5DMII for $1,699 - sweet!

I would keep an eye out here on the Market Watch forum, and be ready to jump when a deal you like is posted (I think yesterday's sale was over in an hour - 50 units!)

Good luck!
