Long exposure problem with EM-1 http://www.seldomscenephotography.com …-e-m1-and-long-exposures/ Yeah, I'm aware - not really an issue for my shooting. It's a bit disappointing, though...

I wanted a very compact travel kit (hence the EM5 worked better) and figured the IQ give up would be not too bad and let's face it, its all about compromise. Or is it? I own and have owned some of the best glass Canon makes and have been a dedicated 1D3 shooter for years. While the OMD doesn't AF like a 1D3, it pretty much does everything else better. The IQ and customizability makes it such a pleasure to shoot with. I've got the top dials configured in such a way that I almost don't have a need to get into the menus unless its a special situation. Certainly for a travel setup, its all right there at the touch oof a button. I suspect its capable of so much more than I have even considered but for now, I'm so happy with it that I am already considering switching my DSLR gear around a little more to afford the OLY 75 and maybe the f/2.8 tele-zoom. I usualy import directly into Lightroom 5 but I can never get the same colors as when I try to load into Olympus Vieiwer. However, loading it into Viewer first, exporting as TIFFs, importing into Lightroom takes a lot of time because viewer is slow plus tiffs are huge. Anyone can recommend a good workflow that preserves Olympus colors, sharpness, etc. without having to readjust each in Lightroom? I find myself doing more post processing than I would like to. Someone over at DPReview posted these settings as their E-M1 preset when importing straight into LR, maybe try that?

Although "Exposure: -1.70" seems a bit strange to me... dropping exposure by almost 2 stops during import? I've never had to lower exposure this much during PP, I think it would create really under exposed images. I'll create this preset and see how close it gets to Viewer TIFF results. Think of getting E-M10 kit with the 14-42mm EZ lens the 40-150mm and the 25mm f/1.8. Any thoughts? Would I regret it? What do you have Canon wise? I played with the M10, very nice and compact, almost too small though. Great IQ, sold me on the MFT format but I decided if I was going to go, I wanted to go top end. I had a EOS-M, 1D3, and 6D with lots of lenses and knew that I would be selling all but the 6D and a couple primes. Wayne...

If you are shooting sports/action with your 7D + 70-200/4 you may regret that move quite a bit. Otherwise I think you'll be fine. I have owned the E-M5 and the low to mid-level m4/3s primes. To my eye that set up outperformed my 7D with similarly priced lenses.

Not doing much sports so my thinking is the 7D is under used.

The AF tracking on the OMD EM-5 and EM-10 are terrible compared to any Canon since the 20D. For most everything else, the OMD-E-M10 is very nice. I love my M5, but will never dump my Canon gear because it is much better for sports, motorsports, airshows, etc. Gear List

Just got back from Ethiopia and only took the M5 (along with 14mm/45mm/45-175mm lenses). Its a tiny kit relative to trips I've taken there with just a 1D3 and 24-105mm which made it much easier to take around and far more discrete. I don't think I'd dump the 1D3 since I do shoot action still but if I were doing a portrait shoot, I'd be hard pressed as to whether I'd rather have the Canon or Oly in my hands, it really is that good.
