I've been looking to get some large canvas or even metallic prints made and like the prices I see from BayPhoto that is associated with SmugMugPro. Has anyone used Bayphoto and specifically shipped larger mounted prints to Canada? If so, how much was shipping/duty? I'd also be interested if anyone could recommend a printing place in Canada that may be somewhat competitive with prices and can do large prints. I'm thinking 20x30s or 24x36s.

I don't know where in Canada you are, but I've had good luck with http://www.calgarycanvasprinting.com/ (external link) in the past.

I use Technicare as my pro lab and they do an outstanding job. They provide any imaginable service and they have about four labs across the country. My son ordered some canvas, metallic and normal large prints from http://www.posterjack.ca/ (external link) and they were very good and the prices were right. If you google poster printing in Canada you will find many solutions without having to shop south of the border. I have tried a couple of US labs, one being MPix and other escapes me right now. I can't recall any problems but I do prefer to support our own here before resorting to buying from another country. Time is always an issue for me, once I order prints I want them soon and I can recall the MPix order was shipped fast but took a few days to get to my office. I don't have any personal experience with Bay.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I cannot address the shipping to Canada portion of your question but I have been very happy with Bayphoto's quality and customer service. Having said that, there are many fine labs out there and sure in Canada as well and suspect shipping would be less.

Best, Bruce
