Very grey and boring up here right now so looked through some summer camping pics to redo. Here's a couple. This lake is in Lake Superior Provincial Park.

For #1, try an over all darkening, similar to #2. Then you'll have a pair of fine looking images.

Not sure why you would want to darken either image - both look fine apart from playing around with curves to lighten darker areas to give it a little more umff..

I think for the first image I would have used the capsized boat in it's fullest as composition without cutting the front part off - then the boat could be used to draw your eye up and into the image..

Second image looks fine but again maybe a play around with curves to improve the contrast of the image...
