15-85mm AF @ 15mm

Quick question, have any owners of the 15-85 found the AF to be a bit iffy at 15mm? I was messing around last night in dim indoor light and found that somethimes the focus was off at 15mm but fine at 85mm.

I know these are not ideal conditions, just wondered if any one has had similar issues?

I did not notice any behavior as you describe
test 1st in good light before drawing any conclusions
Also you may want to see/test if your lens back/front focusing
the 15-85 is a great lens !

I have no focus issues anywhere, throughout the focal range.. very happy with it!

Mine is fine, no issues at all.

Mine works fine, however focussing in dim light isn't a lens problem, unless it's a slow one. Don't expect miracles, cameras need something to work with they aren't clairvoyent.

Same here.

Thank for the replies. It is missing focus in dim light using AI Servo and missing focus for one shot occasionally. I'll try it again in better light and test for front/back focus. I was trying it at f/3.5 at 15mm.

any samples?

could be that you're not getting the most of it by shooting at max aperture. how 'bout stopping it down?

Today I tested it again outdoors and can say that 87% of my pictures when perfect, the other 13% I can safely put down to user error.
