I had the Sigma 17-70 on my 30D for years and couldn't live without it.
If all goes as planned I am getting a 7D with a Sigma 17-50 tomorrow. Very excited after reading this thread!

Waiting for enough funds to buy some L glass but in the mean time this baby does a wonderful job so far!

No such thing as the tamron 17-70 VC ;) There's the sigma 17-70 OS though, which can give results like these:

Seems like the sigma love has died down a bit so I guess I'll keep it going :)

Pulled the trigger on the 70-200 OS......so can't wait for it to get her. But on the sad side that now means I'll be selling my beloved canon 70-200 f4L IS.

Not to fear. You won't miss the Canon - unless you are partial to the white or the weather sealing was important. My guess is you already considered those before you made your decision. Congrats on the new purchase. You won't be disappointed!

I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.

The no weather sealing doesn't bother me as I hardly ever shoot in bad weather and I have a cheap OP Tech ran cover for if I do.

The White was awesome for about 5 minutes. Then I realized all it did was attract attention so I'm looking forward to beauty in black!! :)

Wednesday is the expected delivery date.....SO CAN"T WAIT!! (feel like a kid waiting for christmas morning)

I've got a decent amount of Sigma lenses for my 7D and for my Sigma SD15 DSLR. I've had two that needed calibration and one that needed repair after taking a hit. I've been very happy with my lenses. My old Sigma SD9 (my first DSLR) suffered from malfunctioning AF. The camera was out of warranty by two years but was repaired at no cost to me by Sigma USA. While it was in Japan, they offered me a loaner to use.

For my 7D I have:
8-16mm DC HSM
15-30mm EX DG
17-70mm DC OS HSM
70-200mm EX DG Macro HSM II
18-250mm DC OS HSM ( a nice walk-around lens)
80-400mm EX DG OS

For my SD15 I have:
50mm EX Macro
105mm EX DG Macro
17-70mm DC OS HSM
24-70mm EX DG

So I got my sigma 70-200 OS today.......Oh. My. God. I should have gotten this over the canon f4 IS in the first place. It's is just as sharp as the canon f4 IS at f4 and does better then I remember at f2.8 as well (I OT to use one several months back). Not as sharp as the canon f2.8 mark 2 but not $1000 less sharp :)
