Playing catch with my dog Freya, thought you guys might enjoy a few photos. These were shot with my new Takumar 200mm F3.5 Preset. They were all shot wide open at f3.5.

Man it is hard manual focusing on such a fast object, especially when the focus ring has about a 360 degree adjustment! Some shots were out of focus, but I included them because I thought the snow in the air was interesting.

For those of you interested, I'm really enjoying the Takumar 200mm F3.5 lens. There is some CA in some shots, but it is easily fixable. The only photo I fixed some CA on was the first one. The focus ring is soooo smooth and precise, that with some practice, I think I'll be able to focus on fast moving objects (like Freya) pretty reliably, even wide open, which is a pretty shallow depth of field.

I'd really recommend you pick yourself up one!

Ditto. And the lens, well, that speaks for itself. This is an MF adapted lens, correct?

Thanks.

Sam, yeah, it is a Pentax Takumar 200mm F3.5 M42 lens. It is very different as it only has four elements and 18 aperture blades, making a perfect circle aperture at all f-stops. The aperture is also at the front of the lens instead of the back like most other lenses.

I bought it off of ebay in as new condition for $60.00. It is a 50 year old lens, but it is now my favorite of all the lenses I have.
