I heard there was a family of four Harris's Hawks in Boulder City, Nevada so grabed the cameria with directions in hand and started my search. I was really excited to get a chance to see the Harris's because they are very rarely seen this far north. As I made a turn onto the road where they were last seen I saw all four of them flying right at me. I pulled over and grabbed the cameria. they just passed my truck and all four dove to the ground and grabbed a quail.

One took off with it and the rest followed.

Notice the string tangled in this ones feet.

After they shared the meal they perched on this patio railing, I spent about 2 hours watching them.

Nice catch and great shooting Randall! I like the family portrait of them all together. The Harris's Hawk is on my "birds to see someday" list.

What a neat opportunity Randall, and good for you being able to take advantage of it!
You got some very nice images and #s 2 & 5 are my favorites. I just love the "family" portrait w/perfect symmetry of 2 breasts and 2 backs pointing your way.

Very nice job capturing the essence of these pack hunters of the raptor world. Watching them hunt must have been amazing. Great stuff.
