Opel Vectra 2.2 Direct - interior shots!

Hi all! It's been a while since I last time wrote here. But now I have the time to write and share something, so I decided to share these interior shots with you all. These are from my new car which I bought two weeks ago.

Brings back memories, I used to have a blue one until a year ago.

Nice shots, unusual seat colour I think?

The upholstery is called "Splice Morrocana" and the color is somekind of brown. Seats are partially covered with artificial leather...not the most usual color, I agreed

That Vectra's colour is metallic black ("Black Sapphire") and it's really really difficult color to photograph, at least with those small speedlights!

Nice car, I really like the size and the feel of the car when driving, it's very stable to drive.

I liked mine because I could lay doors down in the back and close the tailgate - not many estates in the UK that you do that with! Handling was good when you consider it's size.

It was a nice car except mine had constant niggles and problems that plagued me for the 4.5 years that I had it...

This wagon is really roomy, even the backseat passengers have really great room around them. My previous car was the Calibra (1995 DTM Edition), so this Vectra seems even bigger (especially the interior) for me

Did you have the same engine in your Vectra (Z22YH)? What kind of problems did you have with it?

I only had a 1.8

Problems mainly with the oil pump (it was off road for two weeks waiting for a modified replacement from Germany), rear main oil seals, radiator mounts, drop-links etc etc. Another problem was the CIM module (Column Interface Module) in the steering column, caused spurious errors until I did a DIY service on it. Also the Vectra C platform seems picky about wheel balancing, every time I changed tyres I had to rotate wheels and have them rebalanced to stop vibration...

In the end it started using water an after changing the expansion bottle and cap without success the only place it could be going was inwards... Traded it in the end!

The 2.2 Direct is not a bad lump as long as it's serviced correctly and has the modified timing chain oil jets (which that one has as its the facelift model).

I've a 2.2 Pre facelift (z22se) and have about 30k miles on it, engines gav no bother, but have wrecked a few springs.

JuzzyD, you sure did got some problems with it... glad you get rid off it though! I was aware of those 2.2 direct engines timingchain and it's lubrication nozzle problems but I think it was more to the older Z22SE engines fault not the "facelift" engine Z22YH.
I have a 1 year / 30 000km warranty to that car, so if something is going to happen let it happen during that warranty!

Tinners, I think it's quite typical that those springs will break on Vectra C, even on low mileages. At least then you have a reason to change lowering coilovers to it. And oh, I'll keep those seats

BTW, my english can be quite bad time to time because I don't always remember the right words and phrases, not to mention that english grammar is not the strongest point of me. Hopely you still got a hang of my "stories"

Coilovers? Nah, I'm after air suspension Awk, please give me them...

Even though air suspension would be cooler I prefer coilovers for the better driveability
