A friend of mine is looking to buy a set of extension tubes for his Canon but he is VERY frugal....lol. I mentioned the Kenko which I have but the price was too steep. There are several manufacturers that make extension tubes that cost much less than Kenko, which ones would you suggest given your own experience with them? Thank you for any and all help.

Assuming you're talking about metal tubes with no glass or chip... I got a set off eBay for $11 and I just can't see how brand name can be any better. They fit well with no play. That's just a simple metal contraption. No reason to pay extra for basically a label. The AF confirm ones are a different story.
