Just boght another Domke

I just picked up a Domke F-1 earlier this week (which made my 9th storage bag) but I ended up buying the Domke F2 Wax Wear Professional Ruggedwear Bag FS new F-2 700-02A Wax Wear Pro last night to keep just to fill with a couple camera bodies and lenses to make one simple shoot...thereby leaving the rest of the equipment in the SUV, van or motel for the next shoot.
I love these Domke bags but this particular F-2 is VERY nice. I wanted to thank my fellow board members for their photos and reviews of the Wax Wear PR because it got me to looking and made up my mind to get one.
I would highly recommend the Donke's to everyone. Needless to say I'll never get rid of my 2 Nanuk 945's or Vanguards but for walk around and assignment work the Domke's rock.

I almost said I need one of the Ruggewear F-2s, but somewhere inside me I know that may not be entirely true.

That's ok. I'll work it out. Beautiful bag, and in pretty much any material the F-2 is one of my all time favorites.

I just got my third F2, grey, to match my F1x courtesy of the B&H F2 special listed in Marketplace. Others are the original in sand (not the same colour by a long shot as the current ones; IMO it's much closer to sand than the current colour is) and a later, but still more than a few years old, navy one. Yes, I do need to write the history of the Domke line, showing variants where possible.

Love the F2. Even if I don't use it as much anymore, I can't bring myself to part with it. My wife hates me.

I love the Domke F-2 Ruggedwear too. I need to pick up one soon. I just have too many bags now. I have the Domke F3X Ruggedwear and love it but now that I have two bodies, I need the F-2 to fit both.

which one is softer. I mean which one do you think conform to the hips better?
The rugged-wear looks nice.

The standard canvas will break in quicker but both will become floppy over time.

Same as a J-series, the ballastic nylon stays taught, longer but it will get floppy just like the canvas bags.

I have 3 camera bags, 2 are Domke's. A F-6 and another that is is about 15 years old but it is so well constructed and padded that I can't give up on it. They are just the best.

Azzure_7 I have to agree completely withDisrupTer911...the canvas (I have it in an F-1) is very flexible and is perfect. The Rugged-Wear is slightly waxed (and comes with wax re-finisher for touch ups)so is a little stiff when new (still feels good on the hip).

Does the Gray Domke F-2 that was on special at B&H have the new velcro'd insert or the old fixed-partition dividers?

New Velcroed ones.

Jon, what do you think of the new velcro inserts?

Do you prefer these or the old version?

i wish they would make the F1x in rugged wear or the original brown with light trim. i wish i had picked up a retro f2 when they were available.

I don't really have any basis for comparison. I only ever use the 720-230 3-compartment insert, not the 720-240 4-compartment one. The 4-compartment ones don't let me include the 7D/70-200 combo set up in the bag; I'd have to remove the lens from the body. And, of course, the old 720-240 compartments were too small to take a hooded 24-70 or 70-200. The new 4-compartment ones might handle that but they still don't let me load the 7D/70-200 in the bag.
