You mean lovely clear day by Hong Kong standards
I have been here two years and still don't have a decent shot across the harbour because the pollution is so bad you often can't see the buildings on the other side.

Yeah, the haze sucks hard in HK. For best results, try going out the day after a typhoon or rainstorm, the wind/rain gets rid of the smog.

I really like number 4, its a shame they put the wooden barrier in front of it.

The Temple/Garden shots are great color "counterpoints" to the cityscapes (together with the haze)!

I grew up in Los Angeles County (California) in the '60s and know all about city haze -- fortunately we had places where we could "get away from it all" -- beaches, mountains and such!

Thanks all. Yes, the haze does seem to be a big problem. I've only ever been there for very short 2 or 3 day business trips so I was lucky to get out for long enough to get these shots. Would love to go back for a proper visit at some point.

A bit of an old thread, I know, but I recently visited the Nan Lian Gardens, which is where the OP took his shots. They had those wooden barriers at several locations around the gardens. I really wanted a decent reflection shot so, after scoping out the guards and casing the joint, I hoped over one of the barriers....
