Took a trip to the LA Arboretum today. I tried not to be too sad about the devastating wind storm that destroyed so much of it recently. Luckily, some of the best sections made it through unscathed, so there were plenty of neat plants from around the world to photograph.
This is the first time I went there with a tripod. My two conclusions about it are: (1) having a tripod is awesome for natural-light stacks (all plants photos here are stacks of at least three shots), and (2) carrying a tripod and head for 4.5 hours without a shoulder bag is a good workout. My dogs were barking after that adventure.
