1DX No Longer Available for Pre-Order in US?

Is the 1DX no longer available for pre-order in the US? Others seem to have pre-ordered it, but I don't see any reputable dealers who are (Amazon, B&H, Adorama, etc.). Has something changed?

They (reputable dealers) normally only take pre-orders for the amount that they expect to receive in their first shipment. I would assume that what you are seeing is that they've taken that many pre-orders, like RR suggests.

I preordered with Adorama in October. I had e-mailed Helen for details and wound up calling Adorama to put me on the list. You will have to give CC details though.

Well since Canon has taken the price off their website, it's now up in the air. You would put a small fee down from your CC but, it's not charged.

As far as I know, the 1DX doesn't appear on anybody's website for order. You have to call them and tell them you want to be on the list.

I would imagine, that like the Mark IV, priority is given to news services and the like. Then any that remain are offered for pre-order and once those are all spoken for, no further orders are taken. Then another batch becomes available and it's shampoo, rinse, repeat.
