Anyone know of any good sites, books or videos that show how to use aperture 3. I mainly want to use aperture to help with portraits of my family ie mainly sharpening, lighting, and color techniques.

Thanks for any help,

Adam

I'm not a Mac/Apple user, so I just Googled "aperture forum tutorial" to see what would come up:

Actually, it's YouTube. It's a Web site that users contribute videos to of all types of things.

Sometimes people on a forum like this presume that other users are familiar with how to find things on YouTube and other places and so toss out quick answers that may not be helpful it you haven't "been around".

So you can look at the various links from that Google search, but if you want to check out the video offerings on YouTube, you can enter a Google search like this, "youtube aperture tutorial" and get this list:

http://www.google.com …64e&biw=1680&bih=734&bs=1 (external link)

Try using some other search terms for things that interest you -- the 'Net is full of stuff, it just takes learning to find it:)!

thanks

I hope you find some good stuff! If you do find things that are particularly helpful, make sure you "bookmark" them so the next time someone asks a similar question you'll be an "expert" with a helpful answer:)!

Apple has some good tutorials on their site and Lynda.com has 8 hours of training for Aperture 3 which is really worthwhile. MacCreate has alot of info and videos. Apple Aperture 3 by Ken McMahon & Nik Rawlinson is a good book but you might get you confused if you are new to this type of thing. Aperture 3: Portable Genius might be better but I have not read it. Also the Apple support forum on their site is a good source of knowledge.
