B&H has ~15 lbs sandbags for around 20 bucks a pop.

Is there a cheaper option out there that shares the same rugged nature and reusability?

I have been using these for couple years. They hold up very well.

If you want ones that aren't so "colorful", try theses. They work fine.

The color has its advantages - people will be able to see your light stands more readily, and be less likely to trip over them. I have the yellow and black ones, and they work fabulously.

I bought some of the blue ones and yellow ones from different sellers. They work great. I needed nearly 2 full bags of playpen sand [found at home depot] to fill my 8 bags. $6-7 each is about as much as you need to pay. Both bags I got have double zippers. Make sure you get a scoop of some sort if you don't already have one to be able to fill the bags.
