7d - setting my image counter start number

OK, I removed the battery and the date/time battery from the 7D today. Wanted to find out if there is any way I can get the camera to start from a serial number for the pictures that will continue from where it left off.

I think the last image number was 2300 odd.

clear all pictures off your memory card. Copy the last picture taken back from your PC to your memory card or rename an original pic so that it has the number you require, take another pic with your camera and the number should follow on automatically.

This should work with a direct camera to PC link or a card reader.
