WallaceRiver " ...a bit of a pervy voyeur " More info | I'd say $4200-$4300. I paid $4300 for mine with 400 shots on it about 6 months ago on FM. IAN - Living life on the shores of the Wallace River in northern Nova Scotia, Canada :

If the 1DX really does launch at $6800, then the 1D Mark IV used values will not go down at all. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

When the replacement for a camera is 40% higher, then the used body pricing does not soften. I agree. Its also been mentioned (on Canon's site I believe) that the 1D4 will coexist with the 1Dx, at least for now. SOSKIphoto

Nope--If you believe Chuck this is the last 1.3. He is falling all over himself trying to explain away the shortcomings of the 1Dx. Middle age is when you can finally afford the things that a young man could truly enjoy.

I've seen them going on CL for around $3,500.00-$4,200.00. Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III | 17-40mm f/4.0L | 70-200mm f/2.8L USM | 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro | 300mm f/4.0L IS

MKIV is a great little camera and will be in demand for a while, especially low count ones. Problem of depreciation will come in when they start getting over 100k on the counts. But anything is going to depreciate with a higher shutter count,,even the 1Dx. I'll have to dig up the article I read, but as I said above, the 1D4 is supposed to coexist with the 1Dx. No word on the duration though. SOSKIphoto

The Canon EOS-1D X is the latest in the company's professional range of DSLRs. Its job is to replace both the sports-orientated 1D series and the high-resolution, studio-focused 1DS range of cameras. As is usual for upgrades in this class of camera, the changes are incremental and subtle but aim to raise the bar of what is possible. I heard that too. However, I don't see why the IV and the X can't co-exist, at least until the X production catches up with demand. I suspect the IV will be available for awhile yet, and that is a good thing. It's a brilliant camera and IV owners are lucky indeed.
