I have the 70-200 F4 NON-IS and it has worked wonderfully....but I also knew that 90% of the time I'm using it would be when I controlled the light using studio flashes. The lens I WILL get soon....is the 135F2.0L....I used it and was totally blown away.

Congrats, having owned both lenses (and now owning only the f4 IS version), I think you made absolutely the right decision. You're going to love this lens.

I had dilemma regarding f/2.8 IS II and f/4 IS (I wanted IS so f/4 without IS was not even a consideration) I am just into photography and learning a lot since last year with using 60D. I went ahead with f/4 IS since A) It's light in weight to carry when moving around with kids, B) It's light on my wallet to convince my wife and C) I am still learning, the most important point.

So I am glad I made the right decision to go with f/4 IS. Obviously with North East winters, haven't got a lot of good light to shoot, but this is a fantastic lens FWIW.

Congrats on the new 70-200 f/4 L IS.
Having Is at your fingertips is a wise choice.
Enjoy..

Well im thinking ill hang on to the f/4 for a while and see how it works out, if i find that i start needing that extra stop of speed then in a year the f/4 is probubly going to be worth exactly what i got it for (Because of the rebates/inflation/etc) But otherwise i can enjoy simply having a fantastic sharp lens that im sure ill still find use for and take thousands of pics with before then, and if i find i dont care about f/2.8 well heck! i get to carry around a substantally smaller and lighter lens....

Or maybe ill decide instead of grabbing a 70-200 a nice fast prime is a better choice... Since I've been eyeing say, the new Sigma 180mm f/2.8 OS Macro thats not quite out yet the 70-200 f/4 might make a better compliment to it (since that sucker doesnt look "small" or "light" lol)

I have the 70-200 f2.8 non IS, and I have absolutely no complaints...

Yep same here.
Here's a couple taken with the 70-200/2.8 non IS on my 1D MkII using AI Servo.
They're so sharp, I cut myself and needed stitches...

I went through the same process, and I ended up with the F/4 IS. Beautiful lens. You won't regret it! Hope you enjoy it!
