It is highly recommanded to have a look at the video tutorials before start using it.

I am very new to photography, and editing photos. I have been using a trial version of Photoshop Elements. Would you recommend DPP++ over paying $80 for the full version? Right now I don't know a whole lot about how powerful each is, so it would be nice to have insight from someone who has used them a bit more in depth.

I'd suggest that you keep Elements, because it has a very useful image editor that goes way beyond the capabilities of DPP.

But DPP is very good in its own "right".

But, DPP was designed as a Raw processor, and is not so "equipped" for doing the kind of work with jpegs that Elements is for. So, I'd keep Elements (and do your "homework" with books and online resources to learn how to use it), but sure, get what you can out of DPP, and DPP++ certainly adds good features!

Looks good!

A suggestion... On the DPP++ Plugin main page, you might consider changing the text a bit by replacing the word "possibility" with "ability."

I'd love to buy ++, but I'm on a Mac. :-(

Probably within 1 or 2 weeks if no new bug is found.

BTW, here are some comparisons before/after.
All the before pics are converted using DPP with neutral picture style with all cursors at 0.

Well, they don't have the same purpose.
DPP++ helps you during the raw conversion process.
Photoshop elements helps you after the raw process is completed (I don't know if Photoshop elements integrates now a raw converter but in the old version I have there is no raw converter).

For instance, if you'd like to replace the background of a pic by another background, Photoshop Elements can help you but not DPP++.

So it depends on your needs. I would say that if you just want to extract the best possible pic from the raw conversion process, DPP++ is enough.
If you want to post-process your extracted pic further then you'll need Photoshop Elements.

Aaah... now I get it. :|
Dang...

Having said that, Qt is just C++... does DPP even support plugins or is this kind of a hack? Sry, I've not really taken the time to study the project. ;)
