When does the season end up at the Dam? I'm wanting to head up there again in a couple weeks if there is still a possibly of a good show but I'm almost 3 hours away so I want to make sure the season isn't over yet before making the trek.

I went up to Conowingo my first time in December and had a pretty good day overall. Had a decent amount of activity but the 2nd time was a horrible day...only had a few overhead flyby's and no fishing at all.

Thanks!

From what I understand activity there winds down in December. I stopped there early last February and the only eagle I saw was one in the trees over the parking lot.

I was there several times in November and it seemed fairly slow then - each time all the activity was on the far side of the river, mostly just occasional fly-bys on the near side.

That's unfortunate but thanks for the information. Keeps me from wasting a day on the road.

There are year round eagles there but definitely the most active in November. When I went there was a ton of action, two weeks ago. Lots of fishing, lots of chases and flyovers. Thanksgiving weekend is usually peak.

There's also a Facebook page with a fair bit of info and tips. I stopped there on my way south last January and while not outstanding, it was well worth a stopover for a day.

It helps to know the time of the water release each day. I think there is a phone # you can call for the next days opening(s).

I've seen plenty of activity in perfectly still water with the spillways dry there too. Pretty difficult thing to predict.

There is also a Peregrine Falcon nest there.

I might try to get there Friday or Saturday depending on the weather.
