I found a 60D with a 24-105 mm F/4.0L, one month old, for $1800.
Is this a good deal? Or should I save money by going used, body only and get another lens?
I'm into wildlife photography, and studio work. I also shoot at the occasional horse show and clinic.

Well the 60D is about $1000 + tax and the 24-105mm lens is about $1200 + tax. You are saving about $400 + tax so I'd say it's a good deal, if the two are SPOTLESS. No scratches, no dings etc.

Okay, they looked good in the photos and seeing as they're only a month old, I beliebe they are. I would of course check it over and such before I bought it. Would it be appropraite to talk him down some? Or just be thankful that I found this deal?

60D from the Canon refurb store is $799, 24-105 from the same place is $919. you get a warranty from Canon. I'd talk him down a bit if this is what you want. they're both in stock from Canon, I just checked.

I appreciate you checking. I think I'm going to buy the body first and use my junker lenses on it, then buy the lens when more money comes. Unless theres another L lense that will give me farther telophoto length that around the same price? Also, is the old D60 eligible for the rebate program?
