I have been fortunate enough to capture these images recently. This was the first time I have been able to find them in breeding colors where I could reach them lens wise. While the face and beak of these birds may leave a lot to be desired, the rest of their body makes up for it and they always draw quite a crowd.

Beautiful. It's always a treat to photograph these birds. Really nice sharp images.


My Gear: 6D, 7D, EOS-M w EF-M 22 f2 STM and EF-M 18-55 f3.5-5.6 IS STM, 17-40L f4, 24-70L f2.8, 100 f2.8 non-IS macro, 70-200L f/4 IS, 400L f5.6,, Canon 1.4x II TC, Canon Speedlite 430 EX II, Better Beamer. These are a real treat Jason... gorgeous color and the habitat brings out the spectacular colors and shades... lovely captures.
