Hey all, not sure where to post this so I guess I'll play it safe. ;)

I've been lacking some creative juices lately and I have a Canon A1 and AE1 in a bag waiting to be used. I've decided to create a personal project where I shoot exclusively on 35mm B&W film and process it at home.

There are a TON of resources on the web but I'd like to get a more personable response from those who have done this before and would recommend what they've used. What brand of chemicals do you guys recommend me using to process my film?

I prefer to order everything at one place so I can receive them together if that helps any... I'll probably try out some Ilford, Kodak Tmax and Ektar to get a feel for what suits my tastes. I've watched a lot of videos and the process seems to be fairly straight forward. I'll be scanning everything with my Epson perfection v500.

Let me know your thoughts! I'd love to share some here when I get everything together.

I haven't done this since the 70's, but I'm pretty sure I used Kodak chemicals, I had a Durst enlarger. Don't recall what else I used, I just remember it being a miserable experience.

I usually shoot Ilford Delta 100 and 400 and process with Ilford Ilfosol 3. But I have processed Kodak TMAX 100/400/3200 using these chemicals and the results were excellent. For scanning I have been using a Canon 5600 and it has performed pretty well thus far.

Here are some example shots so you can see results from the chemistry I'm using:

Thanks for the replies! Ilford and TMAX are on my list. I just bought a few rolls of Kodak Tri-X 400. I've seen some sweet stuff online and decided to start off with that. I'm so excited!

I went ahead and purchased everything to get the ball rolling. I ended up buying Kodak D-76 developer and 1 liter of Ilford rapid fixer. I just need to follow Kodak's instructions carefully to mix up a gallon of D-76 developer.
