Jan 18, 2012 05:05 | #4 How did you do your selective colouring in pic 1, because it looks as though you've missed on some of the edges and made it look like a double exposure.

I quite like 2 &3 but as stated above a little bit more of the boy in the frame would have been nice. Looks like it is some sort of double exposure phenomenon to me, not a sloppy selective colour job. Maybe a flash fired on a longer exposure or something? Canon T1i/500D

Jan 18, 2012 17:19 | #6 Thanks for the input guys. This is not a selective color PP... I basically played around with the LR3 to mimic 3 Dimensional POP using the combination of composition and PP, so that it does not appear flat more obvious on picture 2. It mimics a very subtle high dynamic range effect also.

You could lose a bit off of the right side of #1 without hurting the composition. The right portion of the shot contributes little and would not be missed. Perhaps crop between the two trees on the right? The vignette on #2 could be lightened a bit, but the image displays well as is. The vignette in #3 could be feathered a little more to make it less obvious. “Composition can’t be reduced to a set of rules ... Dissonance has its place in photography as well as music. If we confined ourselves to major and minor scales, the blues wouldn’t exist. Rules are tools, not laws.” ~ James Martin

The best thing about this series is the fact that you have taken average, everyday surroundings and produced some images that are interesting, thought provoking and enjoyable to look at. Regards, Mark I am glad you like the PP. Thanks for the positive feed back and tips. Picture 1 , on the upper right side between the right trees , about 4 miles away is downtown Milwaukee skyline that is why I did not crop that much .
