WTF...sitting at the Beijing airport and every website seems to work except for Facebook...is the Chinese gov't blocking it? (I know they're rather fond of controlling what people get to see)...but seriously...Facebook?

Wow...Google says yes...but, but, but...I just wanted to tell my friends I'm safe and sound, not incite rebellion. :D

Use a proxy bypass if you want to get by the filters.

Facebook, Google Plus, YouTube, Vimeo, ImageShack, Picasa, Twitter, Blogspot, Wordpress, Google Docs, Amnesty International, Nobel Prize Foundation, China Bill of Rights, and a ton of other websites advocating our basic freedoms. The list goes on and on.

Having lived there for three years, I must say they do it skillfully. People either don't know or don't care things are blocked, and China succeeds in pulling the cover over their country's eyes. Despicable behavior.

Odd that they block it, I have no doubt FB management would be only too happy to sell the Chinese government all the data they could collect and mine on their citizens.
